Glitches occur when the Lab Rats' bionics get out of control. Because they are human, their emotions can affect their powers. In Bionic Showdown, it was revealed that glitches occurred because bionic abilities were never meant to be integrated into the human nervous system. It can also cause half consciousness, fainting, severe bodily spasms, some of which seem to cause sonic vibrations, and a trance like sleep walking state in which bionic subjects become abnormally destructive with their powers. Their systems are also being damaged by glitches and the regenerative abilities of capsules are crucial for suppressing and repairing the subject from them, recalibrating their nervous systems to their bionics. It seems animals can handle bionics better than human beings.

Adam Plasma Grenades

Adam Davenport

  • Super Strength Unawareness: Though his super strength cannot glitch, Adam sometimes remains unaware that he is using his bionic strength, as he took his bookbag and a chair with him when he stormed out of the cafeteria, away from Chase. Bree had to point out he was using his super strength when he used the ability in front of a student. (Luckily, he did not remember anything after dodgeball).
  • Uncontrolled Super Strength: Sometimes Adam's super strength is unintentionally accessed (mostly while he's unaware or oblivious), such as in Missin' The Mission, when he accidentally hit Mr. Davenport across the room, and in Leo's Jam, when he lifted Danielle so high that she went through the ceiling. Adam actually prefers being unbelievably strong, as shown in My Little Brother.
  • Plasma Grenades: When Adam gets extremely excited or happy, uncontrollable Plasma Grenades shoot out of his hands. Plasma Grenades were first seen in Crush, Chop and Burn when the gang convinced Davenport to let them stay at his house. They were then seen in Air Leo when he successfully went through with a cheer with Bree.
  • Speaking Backwards: After being exposed to the LEMP (local electromagnetic pulse), he can only talk backwards until he is rebooted.

    Adam's Heat Vision Sneeze

  • Uncontrolled Heat Vision: When Adam is angered, he sometimes loses control of his heat vision. (Robot Fight Club) It glitched in Robot Fight Club, when Caitlin angered him.
    • Heat Vision Sneeze: Adam's other ability known to glitch is Heat Vision. He is already known for this power, but when he gets angry, his Heat Vision is uncontrollable. In Hole In One, it is shown in Hole In One, when he accidentally shoot lasers during a sneezes making a hole in Davenport's painting.
  • Flame Vision: Flame Vision was thought to be a glitch of Heat Vision ever since it was first seen in Crush, Chop and Burn, when Dooey Dingo annoyed Adam, who shot flames at him, catching his head on fire. Adam only succeeded twice in deliberately using his Flame Vision: Taken and You Posted What?!?.
  • Vocal Manipulation: When he got his blast wave ability his voice changed.
  • Doomsday Virus: Because Adam had the Triton App, it left a doomsday virus that Krane installed. If Krane got killed, the virus would activate after six months and would cause him to self-destruct after ten hours.

Bree Davenport

  • Uncontrollable Navigation: When Bree becomes nervous, she will jump onto objects or super-speed away (as revealed in Leo's Jam).
  • Scrambled Navigation: Her mental navigation system is messed up when exposed to the LEMP. (Drone Alone)
  • Disabled Joints/Disabled Muscles/Numbing Tongue/Uncontrollable Movement: When exposed to neurotoxin, Bree goes through this, and if not cured in 24 hours, it becomes permanent. (Quarantined)
  • Uncontrollable Voice Manipulation: Bree also looses control of her vocal manipulation when intimidated or nervous, causing her to randomly switch voices and replicate a variety of noises. (Bro Down) When she loses her temper, it will manifest involuntarily and become inhumanly deep.
  • Glitching Eyes: When she first started attending Mission Creek High, she wasn't used to camera flashes, so her eyes would turn into a shiny shade of black. (Trent Gets Schooled).
  • Overuse: Its revealed that if Bree keeps running at top speed for too long, her heart rate will eventually get too high, and kill her. (Which Father Knows Best)
  • New Chip Fix 1 - Flying Upward: When Davenport fixed Bree's chip first, her super speed made her fly upward and on the ceiling. (Which Father Knows Best)
  • New Chip Fix 2 - Running Backwards: When Davenport attempted to fix her chip a second time, her super speed made her run backwards. (Which Father Knows Best )
  • Doomsday Virus: Because Bree had the Triton App, it also came with a doomsday virus that Krane installed. If Krane got killed, the virus would activate after six months and would cause her to self-destruct after ten hours.

Chase Davenport

Chase Sneezes

Chase has seven known glitches so far: Commando App, Sonic Sneeze, uncontrollable Magnetism App and uncontrollable Molecularkinesis.

  • Commando App: This ability can glitch itself on, turning Chase into Spike if he gets very angry or nervous, usually at the most inopportune moments. He goes into Commando Mode when he is extremely angry or feels threatened. During Commando Mode, Chase lashes out at the person/object that made him upset. (Commando App and Spike's Got Talent) When Chase enters Commando Mode, they call him Spike.
  • Snot Cannon (Sonic Sneeze): Another glitch is his sonic sneeze and it has enough power to put out a wall of fire. His nose can easily glitch and launch a line of bionic snot (Crush, Chop and Burn Part II).

Chase after a school bell rang

  • Magnetism App: Also, at the end of The Jet-Wing, he had metal all over him due to his magnetism app glitching. This is also seen in Lab Rats: Elite Force
  • Uncontrollable Molecularkinesis: When Chase gets excited/angry, he sometimes loses control of his Molecular kinesis. It was shown in Mission: Space, when he first found out of this hidden ability. It glitches when he is mad, worried or excited, as shown in Mission: Space. It is also revealed in that episode, that he can use it on people when he used it to save Adam from floating off into space.
  • Ultra-Sensitive Hearing: Because of his super senses, certain noises are too loud and can be extremely painful. (Crush, Chop, and Burn). But since then, he has conditioned himself to withstand certain noises, such as the school bell (Chip Switch). However, he cannot handle Kerry's screaming, or Kate's sonic scream.
  • Hardware Virus: When Kaz was treating Chase during Lab Rats vs Mighty Med, the tool he used fixed Chase's bionic infrastructure but caused his bionic chip to receive a virus wherein it generated protonic energy. If his blood pressure was exceedingly high, he could explode.
  • Doomsday Virus: Because he had the Triton App, it also came with a doomsday virus that Krane installed. If Krane got killed, the virus would activate after six months and would cause him to self-destruct after ten hours.

Leo Dooley

  • Uncontrollable Laser Spheres: As shown in You Posted What?!? Leo couldn't control his Laser Spheres when he burnt Douglas' hair and almost burned Janelle alive in Armed and Dangerous. He appears to have this under control most of the time.
  • Uncontrollable Leg: After Donald performed a procedure to save Leo's left leg, Leo accidentally kicked a ball after wondering if the procedure worked.
  • Bionic Sleepwalking: Before Leo got his arm capsule in Under Siege, he sleepwalked. While sleepwalking, his bionics glitched and he kept firing laser sphere's. This was because Leo's arm wasn't adequately calibrated to his nervous system.

Parallel Leo Glitches

  • Uncontrollable Electrical Generation: When he puts his hands in front of him and accidentally uses this ability, he tears down everything that is not immune to lightning.
  • Uncontrollable/Short-Range Geo-Leaping: When Leo Geo-Leaped he thought the Lab as his destination and ended up at the main room of Mission Creek High School.

Victor Krane

  • Bionic Twitch: In Sink or Swim when Krane got very angered he said, "ENOUGH!" and then glitched to where he turned his head uncontrollably and his bionics made a very strange sound.

Bionic Soldiers

  • Doomsday Virus: Krane installed a doomsday virus as a contingency plan in his Triton App that would trigger after six months if he got killed. The virus would cause them to self-destruct after a few months.

Taylor

  • Premonitions: When her Triton App was deactivated, she should have lost any memory such that she should not have been able to remember Victor Krane, which is what happened with her siblings. However, she kept having nightmarish flashbacks about Victor Krane, which gave her painful headaches. According to Douglas, this is a glitch.
  • Doomsday Virus: Krane installed a doomsday virus as a contingency plan in his Triton App that would trigger after six months if he got killed. The virus would cause her to self-destruct after a few months.

Sebastian

  • Bionic Chip Overload: In the episode Bionic Rebellion, Sebastian unlocked all of his abilities and he malfunctioned.

Kate

  • Commando App: One soldier, Kate, has a Commando App like Chase. Whenever she goes into Commando mode, which Douglas refers to as Spikette. It constantly glitches, causing the app to run longer than usual, which causes her to get stronger  and more aggressive by the minute. Her Commando App is probably deleted now, because Douglas would make adjustments to her chip.
