Hal Sparks stars as Donald Davenport, Leo's step-dad, an inventive scientist looking to push the boundaries of technology with the creation of three teen super-humans, in the Disney XD live-action comedy series Lab Rats.
Kentucky native Sparks began his career in comedy as a member of the famed Second City Troupe in Chicago, where he was named "Funniest Teenager in Chicago" by the Chicago Sun Times. He hosted E!'s Emmy Award-winning "Talk Soup" and had a starring role in "Queer As Folk." Sparks has appeared as a star commentator on VH1's popular "I Love the '80s" series and as a guest on the nationally syndicated "Stephanie Miller Radio Show." He has made appearances as a pop culture expert on "Joy Behar" and CNN's "Your Money," and has also appeared on "Charmageddon," "The Tonight Show," "Larry King Live," "Charlie Rose," "Good Morning America," "The View" and "Jimmy Kimmel."
